Active membership includes certified Directors, Supervisors, and Coordinators of Music.


There are also provisions for Affiliate

membership by music dealers, college music administrators, and retired supervisors.


Annual dues are $45; Retirees, $25

NJMAA is an affiliate organization of the New Jersey Music Educators Association. Music Supervisors from throughout the state meet regularly to
act on matters of common concern and to provide resource information
for related activities and groups.

Objectives of the NJMAA, as stated in its By-Laws, are the following:

  • To support and encourage excellence in music education in the State of New Jersey;

  • To exert leadership in establishing its highest standard;

  • To provide an opportunity for a continuous study of the mutual problems facing school music supervisors;

  • To establish closer communications and cooperation on matters of mutual interest and concern, and;

  • To cooperate with other organizations in promoting effective public education.

NJMAA functions in three modes - regular membership meetings,
Executive Board sessions, and ad hoc committees. Its activities are
publicized through a column in the NJMEA magazine, TEMPO.
